Thanksgiving weekend. Time to sample the spread of rivalry games, starting Thursday night with Texas taking on Texas A&M in Austin. I'm headed right for the good stuff in Scotty B's SEC Rivalry Buffet.
Alabama (-14.5) v. Auburn
For Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide, this week’s mission is to hold on to their number one rankings in the polls and their spot atop the BCS standings. As befits the Iron Bowl, Alabama will offer rival Auburn no quarter. Alas, Auburn’s weak offense won’t offer much in the way of resistance.
Mississippi (-13) v. Mississippi State
Not since the days of Eli Manning have the Rebels enjoyed the success they now are enjoying under Houston Nutt. Indeed, they come to this game with a 4-3 SEC record, a 7-4 overall record, and a three-game winning streak. If Mississippi QB Jevan Snead and his comrades on Mississippi’s offense can sustain their game (an average of 35 points in the last three games) and Mississippi’s defense can play at the same level as it did against LSU, the Rebels should delight the home crowd in Oxford with a season-ending win.
Florida (-15) v. Florida State
Some might think that, considering the Noles handily beat Maryland and this game is at Doak Campbell Stadium, the Noles have the advantage. Since losing to Mississippi in late September, however, the Gators have dismantled their opponents. Offensively, they are playing like a Big 12 team, which to say apparently scoring at will (in the past seven games, the Gators scored less than 40 points a game once). Defensively, Florida offers the typically hard-nosed stuff for which the SEC is renowned.

LSU (-5.0) vs. Arkansas:
Mississippi State actually held on and beat the Hogs last week. Is there any fire left in the gut at LSU; let's go out with some dignity boys ...Eye-of-the-Tiger!
South Carolina (+1.0) vs. Clemson:
Talk about *dignity*, after the beat-down by the Gators Spurrier has got to win this one; got to!

Sooners and the Sham-wow-boys; are you ready for a war?
