Week 5
The Chameleon is running away with this thing. With the way things are on Wall Street, he may be the best financial consultant in town.

Roche's picks
West Virginia -15.5 over Marshall
They were ranked too high to start the year, but this team can't be as bad as they have looked so far. Why were they ranked so high? Because the idiot georgia bulldogs lost to them in the sugar bowl three years ago. That loss validated West Virginia and the big least being include in the BCS. georgia is our Oklahoma
(they both lose bsc games to opponents from lesser conferences and embarrass the SEC and Big XII). I wish I could root against the dogs this week, but I hate bama even more than georgia. Hopefully they beat bama 2-0.
UCLA +7 over Fresno St.
The valley girls have played two tough games in a row, which will catch up to them this week. UCLA hasn't put up a fight since playing the vols, so they should be rested and ready.
Central Michigan -6.5 over Buffalo
Why? How the hell should I know. Its cental michigan and buffalo.
Come clean, Prowler. It now is obvious that Chameleon is a code name for Les Miles.
Northworstern +8.5 at Iowa
Kirk Ferenz gets paid a lot of money to exude craptacularness. Forbes lists him as the #1 overpaid coach in the country. This weekend he will again show why he deserves such an award.
Blue Do-Dads -7 over "Al Groh yes I Blow"
Groh makes 2 million a year to go 7-5 every season and play in a crappy bowl. Nice gig if you can get it. (#5 on our overpaid list)
Rotten Orange +15.5 vs. The Stache
Greg Robinson will be fired, the only question is when. He's one of the lowest paid BCS Conference coaches and still landed #2 on our overpaid list. But the Stache doesn't instill much confidence in us.
Renegade's picks
Alabama + 6.5 over
Georgia not looking that good
LSU -24 over
Miss St the sorry dogs
Louisville -3.5 over
Connecticut
Spartan Brian knows absolutley nothing about picking college football games against the spread. And to prove it, he offers the following picks for this week:
Mississppi State +24
Wisconsin -5 1/2
Purdue +2
I was busy last night (Thursday, 25 Sep 2008) and didn't watch football but, during the middle of the night I felt a disturbance in the Force ... I awoke to find that the mighty Toe-jams had fallen. It reminded and reinforced to me how unpredictable the "College" game can be and what a fool I am for actually thinking I can make sense out of it. With that in mind here's my week 5 *guesses*:
Duke (-6.5) vs. Virginia:
All the Who's down in Who-ville want is their first win of the season and this game offers them there best chance to date. This could be anyone's game; Virginia is bad and Duke, although showing improvement under the "Cut-Man", is still suspect. Looks like Prowler is also looking to crack the code of the *Blue Do-Dads*.
Navy (+15.5) vs. Wake:
The Mids visit Winston-Salem and the lair of the Demon Deacons this week. Wake leads the nation in turn-over ratio and by all accounts should win. Navy, however, always plays bell-to-bell and their starting QB (Maui-wow-wee Conga Pineapple) is back under center. My hope here is that Navy doesn't get humiliated or maybe even?????
Washington (-4.0) vs. Stanford:
Here's the battle of two PAC-10 powerhouses ...Washington and Coach Willingham desperately need a win and if they can't do it at home against Stanford then, as much as I hate to say it, Willingham better have his bags packed. MUSH!
Week 5 and, as the USC-Oregon State game proved last night, the college football world always is . . . ahem . . . quite interesting. The rest of this week offers many tempting games all over the nation as the already posted picks demonstrate.
This week, however, I’ll make my picks from the slate of games featuring teams from the always entertaining SEC. So, welcome, fellow Roadwarriors, to Scotty B’s second annual SEC Swamp Romp.

Louisiana State (-24) over Mississippi State
As Prowler has pointed out on his own site, last week, the Tigers cleared up any lingering doubts about their abilities, especially on offense. Sylvester Croom’s Bulldogs, however, still have a problem at quarterback, and, overall, their offense is in disarray. Look for LSU’s offense to get to work early and for its speedy defense to thwart the Bulldogs’ attempts to generate any offense.
Florida (-23) over Mississippi
Apropos for this week’s theme, this game is in “The Swamp.” Besides home field advantage, Florida will benefit from the match-up of its strong air attack and Ole Miss’ creaky secondary. Moreover, the Ole Miss QB, Jevan Snead, is sure to be harried throughout the game by Florida’s hard-nosed defense.
Texas (-27.5) over Arkansas
Like the other quality teams in the Big 12, the Longhorns have an explosive offense guided by a tough straight-shootin’ QB. Watch for Texas’ Colt McCoy to strike early and often in the first half against a porous Hawgs defense. Arkansas will play with some spirit, but player-for-player they are overmatched on both sides of the ball.
As to the Alabama-Georgia game, let’s get ourselves into the proper mood with this country standard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDm_ZHyYTrg
The Chameleon
ohio st -17.5 over minnesota
oklahoma -17.5 over tcu
arkansas st +1 over memphis
