Week 6

The Chameleon just keeps turning out winners. Picking games at an 83% clip hints at mystical qualities. Can he keep it up?

I usually manage a couple of weeks every season where I go "0 for 0" and collect some big fat goose eggs. So, I figure I might as well get my first Zip-O out of the way this week:

Penn St (-12.5) vs. Purdue:

Joe Pa and State head into the "Spoiler-maker's" coal bin this weekend and it won't be a give-me. Purdue is always tough at home, regardless of their record so Joe and State need to watch their *6* and "play" the entire game.

Duke (+14.0) vs. GT:

The Blue Do-Dads haven't let me down yet; so its time for them to probably do just that. Odds are that GT will win but, I'm hoping Duke comes out of the Yellow Jacket hive alive.

Texas (-13.5) vs. Colorado:

This, in my estimation, is the "Longhorn's" first real test of the season and the "Buffs" might pull off one of this week's pants dropping upsets. Let's see if the boys from the flatlands of the Lone Star can handle the thin mountain air.

roche's picks

Air Force -6 over Navy
I'm glad we have a bye week so I can stay home and watch this game. Go Falcons!

OSU -2.5 over Badgers
After that collapse last week I think the badgers will give up if they get behind.

Penn St. -12 over Purdump
Joe Pa increases his lead over daddy bowden. Isn't is great to see the bowden family fail yet again.

Last week, I tipped by hat to my Cajun cousins with the SEC Swamp Romp. This week, I have a yearning from some wide-open spaces. So, as intra-conference play begins in earnest, it’s time for Scotty B’s Big 12 Roundup. Let’s saddle up, partners! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHTvbfJQIxY

Texas (-14) over Colorado
Last year, Texas was stunned by Kansas State in its first weekend of conference play, and Colorado upset Oklahoma at the same time. It is doubtful, therefore, that, even with the Red River Shootout next week, Texas will take this game lightly.

Oklahoma (-27) over Baylor
Atop the college rankings, Oklahoma is looking good as Big-12 conference play begins. Baylor fans hope freshman QB Robert Griffin can the Bears to an upset of the Sooners. Look for the Oklahoma defense, especially its line, to thwart Baylor’s offense and for Oklahoma’s offense to move smartly down the field.

Kansas (-13) over Iowa State
Kansas takes its flying circus—1,405 yards passing in four games—on the road to Ames. Making Iowa State’s mission of stopping Kansas’ aerial attack more challenging is the return of the Jayhawk’s top receiver in 2007, Dexton Fields, to the line-up. This game also might afford Kansas the opportunity get its running game together against ISU’s dismal (187 yards per game, 95th in the nation) run defense.

UK +16.5 at Crimson Turd

Has let down written all over it. Would love to see Saban at post game press conference looking mad as hell flailing his arms.

Fat Fulmer -16 over NIU

Season hanging on by a thread. But here's a question for our readers:

Who exerts a greater gravitational force?

a) Fat Fulmer

b) Mark Mangino

c) Charlie Weiss

Oklahoma State -24 over A&M

Aggies flat out suck.
