Week 6

The Horror...No matter how dumb our picks, we know that Les Miles is dumber than all of us.  Except for the fact that he makes $3.7 million per.  So who is the REAL dummy?

Our merry band went a craptacular 7-14.  But we know a few things.  Michigan has no defense, Tuberville ain't all that great, and Les Miles is an.....never mind.

After 5 weeks the group has accumulated a 60-57 overall record for a (.513) winning percentage.  Miles' winning percentage at LSU  is a gaudy (.789).  God truly looks out for fools and drunks.

Week 6 and on tap we have “Thug Bowl 2010”. FSU and Miami have played each other, uninterrupted, since 1966 (First met in 1951). Back in the glory days of the 80’s & 90’s this game had National Championship implications every time it was played (Who can forget the Wide Right I & II games). While there is no Jimmy Johnson on the Miami sidelines and no Mickey Andrews chewing roofing nails at FSU and only the jerseys and shadows remain of the likes of Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, Vinny, Gino, Charley Ward and “Peter-Tom” some feel these programs are back on the rise. I’ll enjoy watching this one, but won’t be touching it with a ten-foot-pole.

Speaking of not touching things with a ten-foot-pole here are my guesses for the week; I’m overdue for my annual run of “suck” weeks anyway:

NC State (-10.0) v. Boston College:
If NC State wants to be the Wolf Pack again, clean the “fudge” out of the glory holes and get back in the ACC hunt they have to win this …Have to!

South Carolina (+10.0) v. Bama:
This game is going to be *usual* or *magic*. Usual; Bama pounds it’s opponent and South Carolina has its “usual” meltdown. Magic; the Old Ball Coach, with two weeks to prepare and having had Garcia on a regiment of shock therapy, keeps it close enough. Luck favors the prepared.

Mississippi St. (Pick) v. Houston:
The Bulldogs are out to get some big cat and a little payback …I’d feel better if the game was in Starkville and the cowbells were ringing.

Dmans pick's

Clempson +4 v. UNC
Clemson already has 2 losses. They always win winhen they shouldn't and choke when they should win. The former applies here.
Clem 27- UNC 21

FSU +7 v. UM
This games' always c;lose, and I think FSU is the better coached team. There is no home field advantage in Miami, and FSU has the hotter chicks.
FSU33- UM27

Oregon -34 v. Wash St.
Ore runs it up whenever they get the chance. They'll get the chance. Coach has the kids thin king about an all-time scoring record.
Ore 655- Wash 12

After a lackluster performance in the first four weeks and a dismal performance in Week 5, Scotty B needs to mount a comeback. This week, therefore, I will pick games in which are involved teams that seem to be mounting their own comebacks.

Mississippi State over Houston
SMU (-4) over Tulsa
Michigan State (+5) over Michigan

vegas was obviously way off on some of those lines and made for some easy picks. and prowler's adjustment of my Ark pick cost me 6-0 for the week!
