I guess we’re at that point in this crazy season where there are NO easy picks and I’m stupid …So, it’s “Underdog” time and we go where the *Goose Eggs* grow on trees:

Gamecocks (+ 15.0) vs. Gators:

Why not, I tip my hat to the Old Ball Coach for what the rumor-mill says may be his last season. Does he have one last magic spell left and can he and the Gamecocks take Meyer to the wire …This ain’t the “Swamp”, it’s the land of the “Swamp Fox”.

Clemson (-4.5) vs. Fudge-Pack:

If the Tigers don’t blast their own foot off; maybe …But, of course, this is the ACC.

MSU-Bulldogs (+14.0) vs. Bama:

Bama should slaughter MSU but, maybe, we might get a surprise out of “Stark-raving-mad-ville”!

This week, time has been at a premium for me, meaning I have not been able to develop a theme as I have done for the previous ten weeks. Therefore, with all apologies to the Roadwarriors—and our millions of fans—this week, I’ll resurrect Scotty B’s Grab Bag.

Boston College (-5.5) v. Virginia

For a brief shining moment, it looked like Virginia would pull out of its early season nose-dive and stake a claim for a bowl bid. After winning three straight, however, the Cavaliers swooned, losing three in a row. In those last three conference games, the Cavaliers allowed an average of 38 points a game and scored only fourteen. Moreover, the defense seems to run out of gas late in the game. Admittedly, the Eagles fly into Hooville with an atrocious 0-3 road record and unimpressive statistics (e.g., 92nd in total offense). However, BC’s defense has improved its performance in recent games, and its usually erratic passing attack is showing improvement. But what really could give the Eagles the “oomph” they need (besides the bye-week rest) is the fact that, if they run the table during the next three weeks, they have chance at winning the ACC’s Atlantic Division.

Clemson (-4.5) v. North Carolina State

What? Another ACC game? With my reputation? Bingo. NC State is another ACC team that gave hope to its fans in the season’s opening weeks, going 3-1 (to include a 38-31 victory over Pittsburgh). Then, they started playing in the conference—and lost four straight. Last week, the Wolfpack finally won a conference game—over hapless Maryland. Clemson comes into Raleigh with an offense that has hit its stride in the last four games. Using multiple weapons—RB C.J. Spiller (312 yards in combined offense last week), RB Andre Ellington (7.5 yards per carry), and WR Jacoby Ford (13.3 yards per catch and four TDs)—the Tigers have scored an average of 41 points per game in last six weeks. NC State’s defense is beaten up as demonstrated by the fact that it has allowed almost 40 point a game in the Wolfpack’s last six outings.

Air Force (-17) v. UNLV

Well, time’s running short. So, here goes: I don’t care about what might happen. I just want it to happen. So, fly high, Falcons!
