Week 5

A mediocre 13-11 record emerged from week 4.  Props to D Man and Roche for going 3-0.  Renegade came crashing back down to earth going winless this week.  With conference playing stepping up this weekend, time to separate the Champs from the Chumps.

Hats off to D-Man & Roche Motel for both going 3-0, especially since last week was quite the debacle: Close calls (Bama pulled it out); upsets (Texas was spanked) and; meltdowns (South Carolina reverting to form). Nothing is for sure so here’s my latest list of guesses:

NC State (+3.0) v. Virginia Tech:
Another must win for the Hokies, but NC State isn’t BC. If the Wolf Pack can protect the QB it could be a long day for the VT defense, if not then NC State could be transformed into its old alter ego …The Fudge Pack.

Texas Tech (-4.5) v. Iowa State:
The Rump Raiders go into Cyclone country. This could be a dicey one …Coach Tubs better lay in an extra supply of “Procto-foam”.

Notre Dame (-1.5) v. BC:
Vatican Bowl 2010. Considering ND’s record and what’s left of their schedule this may be their best chance for a win until they face W. Michigan two weeks from now. This game may come down to who prays the most during halftime.

Northwestern -4 @ Golden Goofers

Goofers perfect example of the risks off running off a guy who wins. Mason last 42 games (24-18), Brewster first 42 games (15-27)

UK +4 @ Ole Piss

UK is the better team

Hawkeyes -7 over Joe "don't ask me if I'm going to die" Paterno

(don't tell my wife about this pick, she's mad enough at me already)

Dmans picks:
Vtech

UGA -2 v. Colorado
Uga has taken it on the chin this year, and Richt is feeling true pressure for the first time ever. His team knows he's in trouble and they get AJ Green back this week. conversely, Colorado is just plain terrible. Home or not, they suck Rocky Mountain Oysters.
UGA 31- Cu 20

VaTech -3 v. NCState
I really like it when an early season loss demoralizes a good team. Thay way, when they turn the corner, no one cares. Well, I care because I'm in a race to pick winners. Vtech has turned the corner on D, and NCstate is good but not that good. Vtech still wins the ACC.
Vtech 24- NC state 10

UF +7 v. Bama
People have got to stop drinking the Bama-aid. Who cares if Bama wins? They ain't gonna win by 7.
UF 24- Bama 23

Good morning, Roadwarriors! There's a definite tang in the air here in the Valley of Virginia. Fall indeed has arrived. And with the arrival of that glorious season, it's time to throw some brats on the grill, crack open some bottles of Spaten Oktoberfest, and put on some German music. It is time, in other words, for Scotty B's Big Ten Oktoberfest!
Here are the day's guesses:
Ohio State (-20) v. Illinois.
Michigan (-10.5) v. Indiana.
Wisconsin over Michigan State. WAR BADGERS!
