Cal(-14) vs Maryland:

I know it's tough to travel cross-country and get a win but, unless Coach "Frig" pops some puppy-uppers in the pre-game bowl of turtle soup Cal takes this one.

VA Tech(-7.0) vs GT:

"No-neck-Tech" and the "Chokies" ...This one is up for grabs and hopefully Beamer won't get jocked at home.

Duke(-1.5) vs Navy:

Ordinarly I go with the Mids but, if the "Blue Do-Dads" have a chance of winning they might do it here ...Lets see if the "Cut-Man" has turned the program around enough to get the *W*.

Roche's Picks

Michigan (pick 'em) over Notre Dame
Weis talks shit ("To hell with Michigan") over the summer and then realizes earlier this week he actually plays them. Now he tries to crawfish. Typical domer, talk a bunch of shit but can't back it up.

Vandy -7 over Rice
Good start for Vandy. They have a good chance to go bowling, but can't screw it up by losing to Rice.

Air Force +5 over Houston
(if Ike forces them to cancel, then my pick is USC -10.5 over the Suckeyes)

Greetings fellow Road Warriors! This week, I intended to feature an all-Texas slate of picks. With Hurricane Ike now bearing down on the Lone Star State, I assume that some Texas games might be postponed.
So, instead I'm headed for the West Coast and an all-Pac 10 Saturday:

Arizona State (-22) over UNLV.
Guided by senior QB Rudy Carpenter and featuring such talents as wide receiver Michael Jones, the Sun Devil's offense will put on an air show against UNLV. The only thing that could keep this close is if the Sun Devils and coach Dennis Erickson already are looking what comes after UNLV: a four-week stretch against four ranked teams, including USC and Georgia.

California (-13.5) over Maryland
Maryland is not devoid of offensive weapons--e.g., running back Da'Rel Scott--however, the Terrapins have not played with any pizzaz in their first two games. Although the Golden Bears are on the road, Cal's QB Kevin Riley has looked good in his initial outings and the team has a balanced attack.
Oregon (-7) over Perdue.
Admittedly, Oregon has not had the toughest of opponents in the season's first two weeks--Washington and Utah State. The fact remains, however, is that, despite personnel losses and injuries, the Duck's offense is a crack unit. Yes, they're taking the show on the road, but I can't see how a change of venue will knock this squad off its rhythm.

Spartan Brian's Picks

Vandy -7

As we used to to say back in College Station: "What comes out of a Chinaman's butt?!?! Rice! Rice!"

Michigan Pick Em

Someone call Charlie Weis and let him know his ass belongs in the BACK of his pants.

North Texas +42

Sideways rain and 90 mph winds will make it slightly more difficult for the Tigers to score 180 points on these chumps..... slightly.
