2006 week #2
Scotty B's Picks
Georgia (-3) v. South Carolina (Lock)
This week, The Old Ball Coach (TOBC) and his Gamecocks face a different kind of Bulldog. By “different,” I mean bigger, stronger, faster, and hungrier. SC’s sideline crew needs to bring extra visors—lots of them—for an angry and frustrated TOBC to cast to the ground.
Oregon (-4.5) v. Fresno State
In the preseason polls, Oregon—9-2 and 2nd in the Pac-10 last year—did not get the respect it deserved. It earned some of its rightful share last weekend, moving up in both polls. This week, the Ducks take their act on the road and take another step toward proper recognition.
Notre Dame (-8.5) v. Penn State
This week, a Penn State offense, that is weak on the ground (80 yards against Akron. Akron?!) and, therefore, dependent on an air attack (208 yards, 3 TDs last week), meets ND’s inarguably resolute defense. Admittedly, ND’s offense was lackluster against Georgia Tech and Joe Pa will unpack a set of linebackers that, if the reporting is credible, is superb. However, Charlie Weiss knows how to adjust, Brady Quinn seems to be able to keep his head, and Notre Dame’s special team play seemed more than competent. A close call, I know, but at South Bend, I’ll say, “Advantage: Irish.”
OMAC's Picks
Va. Tech (-11.5) vs UNC (Lock)
Penn St. (+ 8.5) vs Notre Dame
Texas (-2.5) vs Ohio St.
Special K's Picks
LSU -15 vs Arizona (Lock)
Houston -13.5 vs Tulane
California -8.5 vs Minnesota
Prowler's Picks
Golden Goofers +8.5 at Cal (LOCK)
You know that relief you feel after taking a massive dump? Well, Cal sure does. Imagine taking two of those in a row!
Auburn -20 at MSU
Ever had that not-so-fresh feeling? Well, with a record of 6-19 with the Bulldogs, Croom must be working on some serious phwa!
UAB -6.5 over ECU
I have nothing clever to say about this game.
Roche Motel Pick's
Missouri -8 over Ole Piss
I won't even waste my time making fun of the Rebels.
Penn St. +8.5 over Notre Dame (Lock)
Ron Paulus and the Notre Dame offense are overrated and the Penn State linebackers should be teeing off on him all day. Sorry, I meant Brady Queen (I get the Irish's Heisman winning quarterbacks mixed up).
LSU/Arizona Over 42 1/2
Our offense should roll again. Plus Arizona has a good kicker, so they may get a few points too.
Spartan Brian's Picks
Central Michigan +28
Michigan likely to play vanilla looking ahead to Notre Lame
Cal -8 ½ [LOCK]
Cal needs to recover some pride
Penn State +8 ½
Shitney Lions are worse than people think… but so is Notre Dame.
Renegade's Picks
Auburn - 20 over Miss St
LSU - 14.5 over Arizona
Georgia - 3 over South Carolina LOCK
The Chameleon's Picks
washington +17 over oklahoma
cal -8.5 over minn (lock)
tx am -21 over ull
