2006 week #1

OMAC'S PICKS

South Carolina/Gamecocks (-6.5) vs Miss. St./Bulldogs (Lock)

Navy (-11.5) vs East Carolina

Arkansas/Hogs (+8.5) vs USC/Toe-jams

Prowler's Picks

Northern Ill. +19 at Suckeyes

The Suckeyes will be too busy congratulating each other on being ranked #1 to blow out UNI.

Golden Goofers -16 at Kent

Goofers are always good to me at the start of the season.

LSU -30 over Oh-La-La [LOCK]

Les Miles part deaux starts off well....Blanco should be forced to watch this one from the LSU student section.

Chameleon's Picks

nebraska -20.5 over la tech [lock]

cal +2 over tenn

florida -20 over USM

Scotty B's Picks

USC (-8.5) v. Arkansas (Lock)

The Trojans still have talent to spare on both sides of the ball and proven coaching prowess in the booths and on the sideline. The Razorbacks will be, quite simply, overwhelmed.

California (+2) v. Tennessee

Although I think UCLA is underrated in Week 1 and Oregon is not getting the respect it deserves, the Boys from Berserkly will mount the strongest challenge to USC for the Pac-10 championship. They’ll show why this weekend in Knoxville. The Vols fixed some problems in the off-season, but this early in the season a lack of experience will show against a powerful Golden Bears squad. To paraphrase On The Waterfront, “It ain’t their night.”

Army (-5.5) v. Arkansas State

Like the horse soldiers of old, the Black Knights take it on the road and to the Indians in the opening of their 2006 campaign. Some might think “Battle of Little Bighorn,” but Army head coach Bobby Ross is no George Custer.

Renegade's Picks

South Carolina -6.5 over Miss St Lock

Notre Dame -7 over Ga Tech

LSU -30 over La Lafayette

Special K's Picks

USC -8.5 vs Arkansas Lock

Rutgers +6 vs North Carolina

Akron +17 vs Penn St

ROCHE MOTEL'S Picks

BC -11 over Central Michigan
See, I don’t hate all catholic schools, just the piece of shit located in South Bend.

Florida -20 over USM
I’m no fan of Urine Myer, but I do think his offense would work in C-USA.

LSU -30 over U La La (Lock)
Should we cover? Yes. Will Miles actually let us do it? He better.

SPARTAN BRIAN'S Picks

Tennessee -2
The only thing more goofy looking than Les Miles’ hat is Phillip Fulmer’s………….. whole self.

LOCK: Indiana -6
Bobby Knight’s guys should can enough free-throws down the stretch to cover the spread.

Northwestern -4 ½
Win one for the dead guy.

Idaho +29 ½
John L. doesn’t (or, more correctly, won’t be able to) run it up on his former team
